Well this is things that make you say "hmmm". I went and ate dinner and when I came back, the order was there. I guess it takes a while? Sorry for the freak out. It is probably okay?

Sounds like a delay with PayPal ... keep an eye on it and see if it clears up on speed later on ...

Thanks for the speedy reply. Yes, it is a significant delay - over 30 minutes. I don't normally see that kind of delay. Not that I never leave my desk....

Shoot. Just hit this same problem again. An order came in 90 minutes ago through PayPal but no record of any such order, no customer by that name in my database.

If you're having a 30-minute delay, you're doing better than some of us. My last two orders (one 5/17, one today) are both missing from my ZenCart order list. I have been totally unable to reach the 5/17 orderer (gave a phony number when registering) and am stumped on what to do -- I may just have to refund her money. This is very frustrating. I'm not knowledgable enough to add the mod someone else suggested, and I dread all the work involved if I go back to a static HTML store.

No that was before. This order has not shown up 5 hours later. Nor is the customer in my database. And yet, it's definitely a payment from my shopping cart and I have no idea for what. It stinks because it could be the last widget and I might sell it out from under the customer.
I have asked the customer to repeat the order and pay by "check" so I have a record of it but I haven't heard back yet. Meanwhile, I am attempting, for the 4th time, to upgrade from 1.3.7 just in case someone nags me that I am on an old version so it's all my fault!

I'm using 1.3.8 so that's not my problem. I read in some other threads that Paypal is not doing the auto-return to the Zen site which confirms the order, so I added a comment to my "checkout success" page begging customers to manually return to my Zen site so the order would show up. I got my usual order notification today, so something is working -- don't know whether Paypal is fixed or the customer manually returned to the site.
