From the look of it, .categoryListBoxContents should be the right class to style. Just to make sure there isn't another rule overriding this one, add !important to it:
.categoryListBoxContents {font-size: 1.2em !important;}

I've gont to includes > templates > wp purple and black > css and opened stylesheet.css
I can find four instances of .categoryListBoxContents but I don't know which it is I alter the font size and add the line you mentioned. Have attached the css file if that's ok?.
Sorry to be so hopeless at this.
I got it! Just occurred to me to add that line that you put at the end of the file and it now works! THANK YOU!
Thank you also for teaching me something new.
Could I be a pain now and please ask how do I change the colour of that same area?
I had a fiddle but it didn't work. I'm still learning remember!
Such a helpful forum! One that doesn't say to me "if you want more help than that then I will have to charge you". Well I'm hoping you won't say that!
Add to that same rule.
.categoryListBoxContents {font-size: 1.2em; color: #112233; background-color: #aabbcc;}
Use color: if you want to change text color, background-color: if you want to change the area bg.
Thanks for getting back to me again. I tried that but it didn't work. I tried different colour codes and I even played around with adding that "important" bit that you said to add last time. Nothing changed.
I added it to the templates stylsheet.css file at the end.
What did I do wrong?
If it is the text color you want to change, most if not all of the text there is in a link, so you need to add a new rule
.categoryListBoxContents a {color: #112233;}
You are fantastic! It works! THANK you!
So now I'm getting the hang of this....so to change the links for the categories that are all along the top of the screen and Category titles and the ezmenu at the top of the page, do I just create a new rule for those too?
Sorry to be a pain but you are so helpful. (smiling sweetly if that helps!)
Thanks in advance
Donna
If there is already a rule specific to the element you want to style, you can add properties to that rule. If not, you can add a new rule.
