Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Ok, my programmer just installed SIMPLE SEO URL on my 1.3.8 Zen-Cart and I'm now trying to figure ut how to configure it so that it works.

When I "Set SSU Status" to true I get an error on the actual front end of my live site:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Do you have any tips on how to configure SSU once it is installed?

Hello all,

Since this thread has over 200 pages, I did not read all of them.

I just have one question: I want to install SSU and make it handle all URLs as it wants, however I want my main category URLs to look how I want, and not default. On other words I want to use custom URLs just for my main categories.

Is this possible at all?

My web site structure is:

CategoryName
`-SubCategoryName
`--ProductName

Say, the category name would be "Bugatti Veyron", with subcategory "France" and product "Pur Sang ##############" -- I do not want the URL to be rewritten as simply: http://www.site.com/bugatti-veyron/france/pur-sang-##############

I want the category name to be http://www.site.com/buy-veyron/france/pursang-############## instead.

Note: what I said is just an example.

All in all, I just want to adjust the Category URL. The subcategories and products can be whatever, but I really want to be able to change the Category URL. That page is also my landing page for SEO, so...

Any help?

I am getting the exact same error.

The cache dir and all subdirs/files are 777.

Warning Checking includes/configure.php
Warning Suggested .htaccess content

I don't know what's wrong with my configure.php...

The htaccess is SSU's default one. I did not use a htaccess before.

I've tried to install this mod, and I must be doing something wrong as I get nothing and now my shop just appears blank.. again

I'm running 1.3.8 and have uploaded all the latest files as suggested and following the instructions here:

There'll be something I've done wrong, but I have no shop at the moment!

When I click on Extras -> SSU Manager I just get a blank page, same with the SSU check page. I tried re-uploading everything in case something messed up that way, but still the same.

Any ideas what I've done and how to fix?

you may want to check to make sure you are running php5 instead of 4.

Hmm, I presumed it was PHP5 but after checking with my host it appears to be PHP 4.4.7

First, remove the includes/auto_loaders and admin/includes/auto_loaders that ssu added in should stop ssu classes from being loaded, which will help your site to function again.

Now, you have 2 choices:
1. upgrade server to php5. This is usually a fairly quick process, simply email your host for more info and help. Make sure all the scripts you are running are php5 compatible first, zen 1.3.8 is

2. use an older version of ssu, 2.9.6 which supports php4, you will miss some important features tho.
