    Default Dynamic option values

Hello. Does Zen Cart have the ability to change certain product options based upon an option previously chosen. I'm sure that's clear as mud, so allow me to illustrate with a fictitious example.

    Let's say I am selling a t-shirt.

One of the product options you can choose is color. You can choose red, green or blue. So let's say I have a drop down box with these colors listed.

Another product option (with drop down box) is a decal to be ironed on the shirt. Each of the colors has different decal options. So, for instance, red shirts can have a dragon, car, or sun on them; blue shirts can have a wolf, plane, or mountain on them; and green shirts can have a cat, motorcycle, or waterfall on them.

Is there a way for me to dynamically change the contents of the decal option drop down box to reflect what is available in the color chosen in the first drop down box? How would I handle this in Zen Cart? Is there an easy way, or would I have to make different products for each shirt color, i.e. "T-shirt (red)", "T-shirt (green)" and "T-shirt (blue)".

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Not at present.

Some people have attempted to simulate this by using the stock by attributes mod and not setting any stock for the options that don't exist. However in the current version of Zen Cart this isn't a very satisfactory solution as the mod's database structure doesn't make it very receptive to the AJAX calls you would need to create the dynamic filtering.

In Zen Cart 1.4 this function gets taken into the core code and I'm confident that this approach will be much easier to implement.
