Can someone please give me a chart or layout of what my overide system files should look like? I want to make sure I have all my edited files in the right place in case I ever want to upgrade or change templates. Thanks!

Awesome! That was a huge help! I added the directories I was missing...now, if you have the patience for yet another question...I need to know where the following EDITED files go...Just to be sure I have them in the right places....(I have been having some trouble changing the name of page 2. I don't think I have the files in the right directories):
Where do the following EDITED files go:
header.php
english.php
index.php
page_2.php
print_stylesheet.css
stylesheet.css
stylesheet_css_buttons.css
Thanks for your help!
Glad that helped!
I'm assuming (never assume anything!) that you're customizing header.php from your includes/languages/english folder? The structure would be like this, using
your_template_name as an example of what your custom template folder is named:
includes/languages/your_template_name/english.php
includes/languages/english/your_template_name/header.php
includes/languages/english/your_template_name/index.php
includes/templates/your_template_name/css/*.css
Tell us more about what you're trying to do with page_2? Have you looked at the
About Us contribution in the downloads here?:

It's really great if you're trying to add additonal links to your sideboxes.
Sorry...
I should have said header.php and index.php.that you're customizing header.php from your includes/languages/english folder?
Thank you so much for all your help! As soon as I moved the english.php to the right directory, my page 2 name changed! I KNEW I didn't have something right! Thank you so much! I love the support from this site. Everyone is so kind and willing to help one another! What is the general rule for filing these edited files then? Do you normally keep them in the same area they are in but just move them into the corresponding "your template name" directory?
No. Copy the original file to "your_template' dir., make your edits then upload. Remember also that your Hosting directories/paths must be identical to the ones on your computer. And if you don't have a complete backup of your Zen Cart directories & files, right now would be a good time to download them.Do you normally keep them in the same area they are in but just move them into the corresponding "your template name" directory?
Best to do your edits on your computer then upload the changed file. That way, you always have two complete copies in case something goes wrong. If your personal computer gets toasted your Hosting account becomes your backup. If your Hosting account gets toasted your personal computer is your backup.
Thank you for all your help!
Just to let everyone at ZenCart know that the support site is great! I have managed to work out most everything (Thanks to the manual!) but was having some real issues with the Custom or Magic Override set up. The question raised by the zenner on 1/27/08 got the responses needed at my end! Love that Chart. It must have been buried in the archives! (smile). Thanks all!
