Default Website Pro Error: Invalid Configuration

I have recently upgraded to 1.3.8a, so I can take advantage of the PayPal Website Pro credit card payments system. I have been using PayPay Express and Credit Card Payments off line with PayPal's Virtual Terminal through a Website Payments Pro account.

After the upgrade and installation of the PayPal Website Payments Pro (I re-installed Express too), I received this message on my test purchase.

10501 Invalid Configuration - This transaction cannot be processed due to an invalid merchant configuration.

Since I have been using PayPal Express and Virtual Terminal successfully, I do not understand why I am receiving this message. I have reviewed my PayPal set-up and it seem OK.

    Could someone please help me?

    Thank you,
    Katrina

Make sure your PayPal account is setup to accept online Web Pro payments and not just use the Virtual Terminal.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

I am not sure what you mean. I am paying for Web Pro which includes the Virtual Terminal. Is there something in PayPal that I need to say "Yes - I want to accept Web Pro Payments"?

In PayPal/Profile/API Access, there is an option for Grants API Permission for 3rd party access. Do I need to set that up? If yes, what would be the API account username?

You need to talk to your PayPal sales rep and confirm whether or not you have been vetted for Website Payments Pro, in addition to the VT service you've been using.

You have to subscribe to the Website Payments Pro service from PayPal if you want to use it on your website.
Otherwise you can use Express Checkout or Website Payments Standard with your regular business account.
