No matter what I do, I keep getting this message after I hit submit (during account creation)

Is there a setting that is making this happen?

I get the same thing. Did you ever find a resolution?
It only happens when I shop as a guest and go to checkout and create a new account during checkout.
Error: The Confirmation Email must match your Email Address
Located at www.missionAFRICA.com/staging
Steps to recreate.
1) Shop as a guest with no account previously created
2) Go to Checkout
3) Enter email (new customer radio button on), click continue
4) Enter billing information, click continue
5) Get error / account creation fails and am unable to get past this page.
I am able to create an account when I click login, but unable to click an account when I go to checkout. The only thing I can think of that is different in this installation is we have the AutomaticLogin mod.
Thanks for your help on this.

The site is www.missionafrica.com/staging
the error results after putting something in the cart, going to checkout, creating an account, filling in the account info, and after hitting continue, the error shows. attached are the email settings.
I sure appreciate your help.
Thanks....
I am getting the exact same error. I can checkout until Step 3 - of 3 and when I click on CONFIRM ORDER if goes to the next page and is blank other than two words: EMAIL ERROR:
That's all I get. So no customers can check out. I need help asap....
Can you turn off or remove the auto-login thing?

Sure. I will try that this am.
The changes this mod makes are to the following files.
Core files overwritten:
includes/modules/pages/index/header_php.php
includes/modules/pages/login/header_php.php
includes/modules/pages/logoff/header_php.php
when I installed them, i backed them up by renaming the files with .orig. I reversed this process by renaming the files above as header_php.php.AutoLogin and stripped off the .orig from the original files so the originally installed files would be used.
I still get the same error.
I installed both the Checkout Amazon Style and Automatic Login. They both have files in my templates section. Automatic Login is the only one that overwrites files in the core (which I changed back to the original zen install). Since then, I installed the Local Sales Tax Mod, QBI integration, Testimonial Manager, Quantity Discounts, and Column Layout Grid. I don't know how to fix this. Do I talk with the developers of both the Checkout Amazon Style and Automatic Login???
I would appreciate any and all help you can provide.
Thanks.....
I solved the problem. I searched the error with the developers toolkit and found the offending code. For some reason, which I can't figure out, the code was changed. I changed it back and it now works. I found it in "includes/modules/create_account.php". When I set this file back to the originally installed file, everything works again. I will continue testing to make sure the change I made doesn't effect anything else.
Thanks, and sorry for the previous post.
