Send email

I did a search and couldn't come up with anything. On a site running 1.3.8a there is an issue with the send email admin function loading. It loads but incredibly slow. I didn't time it but I would estimate it took between 3 and 5 minutes to completely load. I don't know what could possibly be causeing this and I can't pinpoint when it started. Can anyone help?

Thanks but unfortunately that is not the problem. The site is running 1.3.8a and once the send email page finally loads the rest of the process is fast and functional. Email sends fine and everything. I have just discovered that the email gift certificate page from the admin also takes about 5 minutes to load. Could this be an SQL error?

I have a site in development right now with V1.3.8a.

I just tested the send mail feature: admin-> tools-> send email and it's working lightning fast for me.

The page loads very fast. Tried all three editors as the default and the page still loaded properly: Plain Text, HTMLArea and FCKeditor. All seem to process rapidly. Also sent test messages (which I believe you said was not the problem) with no problem.

I can't see where SQL comes into play at this point except possibly to load the list of customers (don't have time right now to look at the mail.php). Have you tried reloading a fresh copy of the admin/mail.php file to the server?

If there is a SQL call to the customer list, you might try commented it out temporarily to see if the page loads faster. That might help put you narrow it down a bit.

Beyond that, I'm not going to be much help.

Have you tried reloading a fresh copy of the admin/mail.php file to the server?

This is going to sound crazy but I looked and looked and can't see to find the email.php file. Neither on the server or in the fresh zip of zen 1.3.8a

Do you happen to know where it is located.

If it's not there, I'm not sure how you are getting the page to load at all.

Did you rename your admin folder? (some folks do for security reasons). If so it should be in the admin folder (or whatever it was renamed).

Possible both files got put in the wrong folder or deleted? You might want to compare the contents of the admin folder and subfolders against the files in your original download of installation files to see if they are all there.

Apparentley I had an off day LOL. Of course it is mail.php! DUH ME! Anyway, the file is there. I uploaded a fresh copy and that didn't help anything. This is a store with 6000+ customers could that be why it takes so long? If so is there a way I can speed this up?

I'm getting the same problem I just installed 1.3.8 and the send mail page in admin wont load or seems to load super slow. Is there a fix for this ?
