suggestions on external/3rd party mailing list services?

Hi everyone! I'm wondering if anyone here could give me some suggestions for other mailing list services that can be used instead of the defaul zen-cart newsletter features.

My client is looking for something that would allow his visitors to opt-in to the mailing list outside of actually having to register on the website. Adding a side-box with a form for the opt-in should be trivial I suppose.

I'm sure it's more difficult to tie into the ZC registration process but, hey - I figured I would throw that out.

I've looked into Mailchimp but wanted to cover my bases and see if there are any other services as well.

For a free solution, check out phplist, For a paid service, a lot of businesses use constant contact. Do a google search, there are tons of email services out there. The prices are usually cheap. I cannot justify paying a monthly fee (usually $10.00-15.00 depending on the size of the list) since I only send out newsletters every other month or so. Phplist works fine for me.
