Specials.php will not show new product page

Hi
when I want to input a new Specials product the page only shows a standard warning "NOTE: status is auto enabled/disabled when dates are set", it is the only thing on the page. This started sometime after I started to use Easy Populate for input to my database. Anyone know what my problem is?

You do not see a menu or but for New Product or a title for the heading of a listing?

Do you see anything in your specials table of your database via phpMyAdmin?

Have you ever "knowingly" added a Special?

Have you ever touched the /admin/specials.php or the /admin/includes/languages/english/specials.php files?

If not, can you reload them from a clean download? I am assuming you are using v1.3.8a ...

just an update. when I use the specials.php and press new product, down in the status bar I get read nilandplsce.com and then nothing>

same problem here!

Blank page , showing the exact same thing. Cannot do specials unless I'm using easypopulate.. ugh...

How many Products do you have?

Is /admin/specials.php still the original file?

I have 18,000 products, and specials.php has been unaltered.

New Product on specials.php in the Admin is attempting to make a dropdown of all the products and there are too many to draw when you try to add a new one ...

Get the Product number and use the button on the right for:
Select
Product ID to be Manually Added as a Special

Or, if the Product Price Manager can load with that many products, you can use the Special button on that page as it manages the products differently and does not draw the dropdown ...

After I click on "Special Price Info:" INSTALL + , button it hangs for a couple minutes.

Then I get a screen that says (see below).... The screen has nothing to click, it just says what's below.

It seems that it's timing out while trying to load data. I looked for the manual by a product ID but I cannot find what you are talking about..

As I said, I think it is timing out trying to draw and download 18000 lines ...

This is why there are the two additional methods to add Specials that don't need that dropdown box ...

To test this, go there again and when it dies, view the source and see if the source is a zillion lines long ... note: viewing the source may take some time to load as well ...

Can you please tell me about the 2 other methods?

I've tried the drop down menu , and the catalog blue circle icon ($) but both of these methods seem to hang.
