Default importing customer products into 1.38a

    Hi,

we have had a major problem with our site being hacked through our host (wont go into all the details, but onto securing the site more)
and now have to do a total new install to 1.38a

    We were using 1.37

Anyway as im going through and comparing the 1.37 database files with the 1.38a database (winmerge) I have noticed a few changes which I want to check before I go ahead and continue

eg of a folder in database 1.37

    zen_customers

now in 1.37a it is just

    customers

When I go into the tables/folders do I have to delete zen_ in all the folders with zen_ in front of the origional 1.37 before I import the, if that makes any sense.

    so

-- Dumping data for table 'zen_customers'
    --

    INSERT INTO zen_customers (customers_id, customers_gender, customers_firstname, customers_lastname, ............etc

    should be changed to this?

-- Dumping data for table 'customers'
    --

    INSERT INTO customers (customers_id, customers_gender, customers_firstname .........etc

So what I want to know is it safe to do it this way and is this correct, sorry couldnt find anything on this in the forum

Also I want to do each folder manualy so I can check every table and its contents

In "zen_customers", you have what's known as a database "prefix". It looks like when the database for the 1.3.7 version was created, the person creating it elected to use "prefixes" - the default for zencart is "zen_ "

When the database for your 1.3.8 install was done, the person doing it elected NOT to use prefixes - hence the difference.

Prefixes are used when a database may be used to house data for another application (which would then have its own prefixes to identify the tables relevant to it).

If you make sure you retain the general integrity of the SQL then this should work without a problem.
