    Default Problem entering products

Hello, I am having problems entering products. In the admin section I go to Catalog, then Categories/ Products. I then select a Category followed by selecting a sub-category . Then there appears a button for new product. I click on New Product and get a 404 error such as: 404 Not Found
The requested URL /zen-cart/admin/Coins.php was not found on this server.

For instance I start at: Categories / Products - Coin Supplies, then go to:
Categories / Products - Coin Supplies > Collectors and then the "new product" button is available. When I try selecting "new product" to make an entry I get the 404 error above stating "Coins.php" was not found. What generates this page or did something get changed so that it should actually be looking for a different page.

Any pointers/ help would be appreciated. We would like to get this completed ASAP.

If you would like to see the site:

    Thanks!
    Mike

this should be loading product.php and not something made up from the category the you have created...

Try reloading(FTP) your admin folder files

I found and fixed the problem. When my customer was entering the product types, she entered the name of the product type in place of the handler sheet. Once I corrected that by entering the handler as product all is working fine now. Thanks for the input!

i don't understand how you fixed this. i am a total noob and i am having the same problem.

i already tried re-uploading the admin folder. i checked my urls in the configure.php file in the admin/includes directory BUT this does not work for me. you said that:

"she entered the name of the product type in place of the handler sheet. Once I corrected that by entering the handler as product all is working fine now."

    what is a handler sheet?
    where do i find it?
and how do i correct it?

    thanks.

well now i feel silly. for all the noobs out there. if this happens to you and nothing else works. go to the following menu selection:

    Catalog > Product Types

Select the product type having the issue and click the Edit button to the right. a little more than halfway down the area that shows up on the right is a field called:

    "Handler Page"

make sure it is set to "product." thank you and have a nice day LOLOL.

Sometimes it's hard to see the forest for the trees! There is a lot to learn when you are starting out, and it's not always clear where to look. That is until after the fact, then it's, why didn't I think of that sooner! Good luck!
