I simply went on http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ and type in my domain name and it automatically generated a sitemap.
Can I simply use that for google to search it? Or must I create custom sitemaps?

Is there some reason for not using the built-in Sitemap or why the xml-sitemaps is a better one to use?
There should be no harm using this XML sitemap (which I expect you want for Google purposes). As long as you are SURE it accurately reflects the content of your site, and the data you want "mapped"
Far better to use the zencart google sitemaps generator module, as this generates section-specific sitemaps and allows you far more control over their content, as well as their submission to google. You can even set up a cron job (get the server to submit the data to Google on specified dates & times.

I guess for simplicity.....I also use that for my informational site which works well. But after seeing it generate for a shopping cart, I am a little skeptical...
