1st time upgrading from 1.3.7 to 1.3.8

This will be my first upgrade in ZenCart. I've read the posts here still a little confused about how the upgrades are perform.

As I write this I am downloading 1.3.8 so I know i have the first step.

can someone tell me the I need to do to perform the upgrade

I am assuming that I wil need to use my Ftp client to send the 1.3.8 version up to my hosting server the same as I did when I installed 1.3.7 am I correct with that, will that over write the files that are already there? and hw does tht affect the dtabase.

If that is correct though, wht do I need to do next?

If someone can provide step by step instructions, from the beginning ignoring my assumptions that will be great.

Does this version include the patches for USPS with the new rates and and Paypal patches, never did get those installed, as the postings I read threw me off?
