Database Patch

I just installed the current version zen-cart-v1.3.8a-full-fileset-12112007 and am getting this error message at the top of the page
Your database appears to need patching to a higher level. See Tools->Server Information to review patch levels.
Please can some one give me directives on how to remove it, because its starting to annoy me!

a few people have resolved this by completely re-installing their store, database and all.
A quick fix has yet to show though.
