How to exclude certain shipping options if certain weight

Basically what I woudl like to do is use only the USPS shipping module allowing parcel post, priority, and express for within the US. However, if an item weighs 1 pound or less, I do not want to use parcel post because the item fits perfectly in the priority mailers and it would cost me more to buy plain mailers and ship parcel post than it would priority.

So right now, I am using the USPS module for only express and for all international and i am using the Region Tables module for parcel and priority by bascially making flat rate for priority of $5 for under 1 pound, and so much for over 1 pound. And also I have it so parcel post won't be valid for under one pound.

This works, but I have to mess with then weights a little bit on the products to make this come out right. Also, it might end up being more expensive to customers that live closer to me because the rates are the same as they would be for someone farther away. If there is away a to use only the USPS module, and just eliminate parcel post for items weighing under 1 pound, that would work best. Does anyone know if there is a simple way to do this?
