First of all thank you for this great add-on. Would like to ask is this feature:

Feature Request -- the ability to select how many Reward Points to spend..

When customers use discount coupon and reward points together, the reward points are based on the subtotal.
Is there a way to reward subtotal minus discount only, say 190?

Has it been updated ? This is the only problem before I go on production :-)

Yes it works, but my problem with this method, it's that shipping amount is also substracted from the total (if earned points amount is bigger than subtotal amount).
In this case, I want the subtotal to be zero, but not the total. The customer should pay at minimum the shipping costs. That's also why I wanted to use subtotal in redeem calculation.

I am updating the Reward Point award to take in to account its sort order in the order totals- That will give you better control of removal of Reward Points due to items like coupons and gift vouchers.

This seems to be the best solution. Waiting for this update ;)

I've been trying to re-think the various approaches to calculating the Reward Points- There are three ways I see of doing it:

1. Calculate points based on each product purchased. This has the advantage of being able to adjust points by product and group and would allow you to do things like have a Double Point Special for particular items. The downside is that the configuration of this type of Reward Point mod is very advanced because some people want attributes included in the calculation, others don't. Some want the specials to be included... well you get the picture.

2. Calculate the points based on the "bottom line"- That is the subtotal or the total. This is a lot easier to implement- no need to sum the points in the shopping cart- Just take the bottom line and calculate the points based on that. The downside of this config is that you cannot specify differing Point ratios for particular products or groups. And you can't have Point Specials.

So that brings us to scenario number 3: A hybrid of #1 and #2. Points are calculated per product- but then are adjusted by the difference between the "bottom line" and any other Order Total mods depending on the sort order of the Reward Point mod. This will allow for product and group specific Award Ratios and Specials but will compensate for any discounts and gift vouchers (as long as the RP Mod has a higher sort order than them).

I like version #3 the best.

Some added points.

1: The shipping and handling charges should never be affected by reward points. Therefore the S&H should always be what it is based on the item and quantity ordered.

2: The ability to insure that the subtotal never goes below 1. This way, shipped orders are always considered paid orders and not giveaways or FREE shipments whch can cause issues with customs without the proper paperwork.

3: Future consideration. The ability to share award points with others or securely transfer reward points to other Zen Cart shops using the reward poiints add-on. This will certainly encourage other shops to cross promote each other. A simple conversion ratio or small added fee to transfer points should allow participating shops to minimize their losses based on transfered reward points.

This is a great add-on!

But, I REALLY need an option that will allow me to turn off the reward feature for the default group "none". I want to use the default group "none" for non-members. I want to use the other 4 groups (A-B-C-D) for members and those groups earn points only. I want the non-members group to earn no points.

Currently I can make the global point redeem ratio zero and give each of the other groups a different redemtion value, but the "none" group still recieves points with no value. I would like for this "none" group to see no point value and accumulation at all.

One small thought - the existing contribution is a cracking piece of work - thank you Andrew. I know I am still learning and thinking about how I can use it to best effect. How about a summarized guide or compendium? Or has this already been done!
