Default Migrating to server with older php & sql

I am about to move my ZC installation from one host to another. The old host however uses PHP 5.2.3 and MySQL 5.0.24a, whereas the server I am moving to uses PHP 4.4.4 and MySQL 4.1.22. The installation version of ZC on the old server is 1.3.7 and I intend on keeping the same version for the new installation as I move the files over.

Am I going to experience apparent problems with these different PHP and MySQL versions (basically downgrading in terms of versions)?

First why would you want to do this?
Php 4.X is being phased out and the latest that I think there is is 4.4.8
Mysql is also not going to support(no more patches or releases) the 4.X versioning.
The host you are considering is not staying current right now and I would be seeking one that at least has plans and stays current.
You should be positioning yourself now for Zen Cart 1.4

All this being said, Zen Cart 1.3.7 should have no issues with this step back.

    Thanks for your reply.

Believe me, I am not excited about not staying current on the ZC version any more than I am about the MySQL 4 and PHP 4. I asked my new host about PHP5 and they gave me this code:

    AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5. php

to add into my .htaccess, which supposedly will make my account run on PHP5. I've no idea, I hope it'll work.

As for MySQL, I've submitted a request to their tech support to get my sql upgraded to 5. Someone I spoke to said they can do it, so hopefully they'll get right on it.

It took me a long time to find a host that seems to be performing up to my expectations. Most of my sites are static in nature, so I didn't worry too much about the older PHP and SQL when I signed up, because they were saying they planned on upgrading soon anyway. My previous (or current, rather) host has a constant server load of between 5 and 6 and the MySQL response time is horrible, has been for almost a year. I didn't want to resubscribe to another 2-year contract with them, so I wanted to move out before that became an issue.

As for the ZC version - I would prefer to run the latest version, but the existing installation (and the language pack I needed for it) was heavily modified, and I dread the thought of having to do that again. I go to college full-time so I have very limited time to mess with it, which means the smoother I can get the site transfered over, the better, otherwise it can be down for days as I try to fix incompatibilities. :|

Zen Cart 1.3.7 will work fine on PHP 4.4 and MySQL 4.1.
But backporting your database to the older version may have some challenges if you aren't careful to select the right settings during export.

However, why have you decided on a host that's behind the times? It would seem that if you've decided to move that you should move to someone who's already current ... or else you'll have similar headaches again when it comes time to make more changes.
