Default Unable to create accounts but ISP can!

    Hi,

I and customers who have contacted me say they enter the account details and press the submit button to find that the screen clears and they are back at the beginning of the account creation screen.

I contacted my ISP who tell me that the site (www.kiwisouvenirs.com) works fine and they were able to create an account and take the order through to the payments page.

Is this possible? Could it be that the problem only occurs if the customer is in a particular country, in this case New Zealand?

I know the ISP has made changes to their servers but they are in a different USA state to the ISP's offices and say they are therefore not looking at the site from within the same network.

Sometimes the site looks like it has timed out and a refresh pulls the page up.

Any ideas folks? Could you attempt to login, create an account and let me know if you are successful.

I've had nothing but problems with my ISP so if you can recommend a good host then let me know.

    Cheers

    Paul

Worked OK for me - midwest US.

Looking back through the forums, it looks like this kind of thing is usually a hosting thing (they may have fixed it without admitting their problem) of has to do with mods which deal with the Create Account process.

    Thanks Steve

Nice to know it works somewhere so the code must be sound - unfortunately still not working when I try from New Zealand!!

Could the country selected during account creation cause these problems?

mmm after some attempts, I was able to create one.

I had to supply information in the state/province field, otherwise the create account page returned empty and without any information.

You may remove the account with surname "test please delete"

I hope this is helping you further.

    Thanks Rik

Unfortunately I can't even get access to the site at the moment because the site is timing out!

I'm convinced it is the link between NZ and USA but nothing I can do about -the telecos aren't interested!

While I can create an account, I can also fail to create an account ...

If I don't supply the proper information and am taken to create_account vs login ... the page is blank, as in lost all my previous information ...

I can then go in and more or less lie and say my address is oooo vs Ohio or Oh and it will accept this ...

I am thinking that some of your files are out of date ...

What version of Zen Cart are you running?

    Clean install or an Upgrade?

Sorry not got back - been out of it with head cold.

    In answer to questions:

Classic Template gives same result. I have left it on classic for your purusal

It was an upgrade done by a third party from 1.3.6 when they created my template.

As far as I was aware it worked fine until my ISP upgraded there servers at which point the whole thing fell to bits.

I moved the site from ..\public_html\kiwisouvenirs to ..\public_html with the assitance of folk on the list and it appeared okay - I had orders come in and then more problems!
