Easy Populate is the most efficient way of doing this, and it's odd that you are experiencing problems.

    Take a look here:-

If you can narrow down the data selection this could possibly be done with mySQL statements.

Sorry, didn't see that thread. The statement you posted in that thread should do the trick. Backup your database before trying it out, so you can restore the old data if something goes wrong.

mannaged to get the easy populate to work i think. i had to spil the file in to 200 before it would work.

how ever, does easy populare require each item to have an item model number ot update???

on the debug i get things like this.

    No model field in record. This line was not importedeuro-white | Linda back | Includes 2 | | 365.95 | 01/03/2008 | 30/05/2008 | 422.12 | 150 | | 04/02/2008 | 1 | Phoenix Wh | Furniture | Free Stand | Furniture | | | | | Taxable Go | 1 |

Did you get a chance to look at my WIKI on Easy Populate?

Several times in the WIKI I stress that EP Standard has to have unique Model Numbers - otherwise it does not work.

Most problems with EP are a "input clerk" error (discovered from personal experience ), but if you follow its "rules" EP works a treat.

When you have all your products correct in your DB, do an EP export, so you have a "clean" set of data in EP format.

If you do this you'll have problems BIG TIME.

    The numbers must be UNIQUE.

i did a download from my site and opened it in excell the first colum ( v_products_model ) is product model number, it seems this have to have something in it to update. However with my product range this can't be unique, some items have the same number.

i went through and insterted into the products with an empty product number and inserted, nonumber , then split and inserted. work a treat for changeing the porduct weight and i have not recieved any errors.
