Default Ability to use ASCII characters

    Hi all,

Thanks for taking the time to read my question. I am setting up over 600 products and each one has a size. A large majority have 1/4", 1/2" or 3/4" in the size. So I was wondering if there is someway to use the ASCII ¼ ½ ¾ within Zencart in categories or product names? Every time I try to enter them in a category, it's replaced with a question mark.

    Thanks in advance,
    -Ed

Can these be used in XML? Reason I ask is I am using the Google Base Feeder Mod and it strips the quote marks from all my product descriptions, which I need left in the description since they define inches.

    Thanks

    FatGuyinAZ,

As you are probably not writing this XML but using the base feeder to do it for you and from html code in your description you have a dilema...

Need to determine if the feeder mod creates "parsed" XML or not - if parsed then it will take " and convert to the XML \"

If not change your " to the text 'in'

I will check into the "Parsed" and find out. I suppose the quickest way would be for me to just edit 1 product description then have the feeder generate the xml file and I will then take a look at it.

    Thank you sir.

kobra here is the text from one of my product descriptions (clicked on Source):

    HTML Code:
<p>Treat yourself to the free-swinging comfort that only a hammock can give with this snappy blue striped single-person cotton model. Includes a pillow! Max Wt.: 240 lbs. May require additional freight charge. 31 1/2&quot; x 78 3/4&quot; long.</p>
Now here it is in the xml file:

    HTML Code:
Treat yourself to the free-swinging comfort that only a hammock can give with this snappy blue striped single-person cotton model. Includes a pillow! Max Wt.: 240 lbs. May require additional freight charge. 31 1/2 x 78 3/4 long.
As you can see it's identical except the &quot; has been removed. I wasn't sure what you meant when you wrote 'in' so I figured I would reply with this showing what the feeder is getting and producing.

    Thanks,
    Steve

    FatGuyinAZ,

    So in your case- 31 1/2" x 78 3/4"

    could be entred as

    31 1/2 in. x 78 3/4 in.

LOL I thought "in" was some special code I wasn't familiar with yet. Wow I was over thinking that one.

    Thank you
