    Default using the character ë in a language file

    How do I enter the character ë in a language file so that it displays properly? I know with a ' you have to add \' for it to display. Also ê for that matter.

    Greatly appreciated!

    I have entered these characters directly in the language file. Perhaps this may help:

    Hi Rik

    Thanks for the response. Which character set should I use? Did you enter the character manually? How did you do it?

    thanx

    Assuming that your shop will be mainly in english, you may leave it (setlocale and charset) as it is.

    Entering ë is just as you have done in the header above.

    I'm using a windows pc and have set the keyboard to US-international.
    I type "e and the pc shows ë.

    I hope this is of any help.

    The shop will be in English and Afrikaans, so I really need those characters.

    I type those chatacters in and it gets displayed as 'ë'

    Ill try the "e. Thanks. But how will I display ê?

    thanx

    I had to set the charset in the language.php file to UTF-8

    // charset for web pages and emails
    define('CHARSET', 'UTF-8');

    Working perfectly so far.
