Physical Shipping versus Download

Hi,

I'd like to make some products shipping and some downloadable - that I've done. But now we only want to sell shippable products within the US. Downloadables could be sold anywhere in the world.

So how do I do that?

Downloads do not require shipping when setup correctly as:

1 Product is NOT a Virtual Product

2 Product is NOT an Always Free Shipping Product

Downloads "know" they do not require shipping by virtue of the Download filename that is attached to the Attribute ...

As such ... this means that the checkout_shipping page is skipped by orders that contain ONLY Downloads ...

This means that the checkout_shipping will show when shipping is required ...

Therefor ... if you add a Zone to the Shipping Module(s) that only allow the US, then only US can order physical products ...

NOTE: the US All Zones means 50 states, Washington DC, Armed Forces, US Territories plus all US Islands ...

Be sure to define "your" idea of what is the US carefully if you do not mean "everything" ...
