Hello,
I've searched the forums but can't seem to find how to install phpmyAdmin on a live site so that I can use it to manage my sql?
This maybe a basic question, can anyone point me to the right direction please?

Who's your host?
Most hosts, especially those who offer a control panel (like CPanel) include phpMyAdmin.
GoDaddy
Sorry to hear that.
I don't use them, but they must offer some MySQL front end program.
phpMyAdmin should already be installed. You need to login to your account through their site, head into the hosting management, go to databases, and you should be able to open it up there.
I have a couple sites with godaddy, and I use phpMyAdmin all the time.
Here is a technote from Godaddy that helps you find your phpMyAdmin.
