There was a security error when trying to login.

Hi everyone

I got this message "There was a security error when trying to login." when I tried to login.

I checked the Tutorials/Help/KB section of the site and the it mentioned that this happens when you upgrade to the latest version. However I have not used a previous version of Zencart on this site. Is there anyone who can help?

I don't believe this only happens after an upgrade. It mentions it could happen if you have customized template "login" files. Check those mentioned in the tutorial above.

I have those files in my custom template, But what am I suppose to merge them with? those files dont exist in the default template

I can't help you much there. However, the 1st thing I would do is compare the:

/includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_login_default.php
/includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_timeout_default.php

with fresh files from version 1.3.8a, which can be found in:

/includes/templates/template_default/templates/

Okay. I compared both lots of the files, and there were some differences. So I added the missing bits into the custom template files but it is still happening. The only other differences between the two were the custom files had extra lines. But they looks like they are for design.

All is working now. Turns out the sessions.php hadnt uploaded properly.
