Categories list only list current parent category and subcategories

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, as I was not sure where on the forum to put this.

I am using the Categories Drop Down Sidebox addon, and I would like to modify the existing Categories sidebox (or find another addon) that will only display the current top category and subcategories of that category.

Basically it's an automotive site and I have the dropdown categories list the primary categories (which is auto Makes) and then the normal categories box I would like to display the models, and then obviously you could select a model and go deeper.

Basically rather than listing all top categories, I just want to list the current selected top category.

I've tried tinkering with this and I have not been able to get it working.

Yep, I'm looking for the same thing. I wish this menu was for ZenCart.
