Is there a dedicated forum topic for the PinkyWinky template? I looked for one, but couldn't find one.
How can I turn the background black like the demo? The template looks great...but the background is still white.

The demo I see has a white background everywhere. What part(s) do you want to be black ?
The entire background. I swear I saw a version that had a totally black background, but it must have been a neural misfire. LOL Is it possible to make the entire background black?
If you mean the parts to either side of the mainWrapper, change the background-color statement in the 'body' rule in the stylesheet.
If you mean all backgrounds, you'll need to change that in several places.
Install the Firefox browser and the Web Developer plugin for Firefox. You can use those to see where in the stylesheet you change the styling of the various page elements.
Ctrl-Shift-Y will allow you to hover over a section of the page and see the class and id names for that section in the box at the top. The statements in the stylesheet that begin with # are id's and the ones that begin with dots are classes.
Ctrl-Shift-E will open the CSS editor and allow you to edit the stylesheet and see the changes in real time without changing anything permanently. An essential tool.
Some prefer Firebug, which does much the same thing.
(If you're using Firefox 4-12, you'll need to remap the editor shortcut, since Firefox has appropriated Ctrl-Shift-E for an internal function - I use Ctrl-Shift-Q.)
Um...which stylesheet?
Isn't there any way to open up the php and make the change directly in something simple like Notepad? Sorry, but I'm a php infant, and don't even have Firefox installed. LOL
stylesheet.css. I edit stylesheet files in Notepad.
It only takes a couple of minutes to install Firefox and Web developer, and you really want to be able to view your site in all available browsers anyway.
I found several different stylesheets, so I changed them all. It worked perfectly. Thank you!!
can one of you guys help me, i want to make mine all black but i'm lost. i tried following the step you went thru but was still confused lol. so if you can help me out pleasw
You can open the file includes/templates/your_template/css/stylesheet.css
Should be the first line you will see the following code
You will want to change the background-color: #e5edf5; to the color you desire (black being #000000;)Code:body { margin: 0; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 62.5%; color: #000000; background-color: #e5edf5; }
That is all the space on the outside of the page
