    help question attributes oddity

After having searched for a fix, I'm not finding one or, possibly, am not recognizing it when I see it, so here goes:

I've just inherited a site running Zen(1.3.7 patch 1), and before I can bring it up to the most recent version, I have to go through any mods....so, in advance of that project, I need to get some attributes set up for a product.

I've added the Option names and values, have used the attributes controller to associate the attributes with the proper product. The product in question is *not* set to priced by attributes, so that the initial base price is correct.

On the attributes controller, the attribute has all options set to 'off'.

The attributes do, in fact, appear at the bottom of the product listing, including their prices which, when selected, should be added to the base price of the product.

So, I happily click the checkbox for the attribute and add the item to my cart. The cart displays the base price, shows a bullet and dash, but no additional text (attribute description) and it fails to add the price of the selected attribute.

I'd be really appreciative for any pointers on where to look to fix this.

    Thanks in advance,
    -Ray

If this is the tools site, can you point to a product where this is happening ?

I've got the product temporarily disabled, but if you email me directly when you'd like to take a look I'll enable it.

I will, of course, post the solution in the forum when it reveals itself.

I've made some screenshots of what's happening. Hopefully that will help describe the issue.

First image shows the correct 'starting at' price:

Second image shows the options listed with pricing (checkboxes)

After checking both additional options and clicking 'add to cart', the cart is displayed with the base price only and shows two bulleted items, but they're blank.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be very thankful.

    Thanks in advance,
    -Ray

1.3.7 had some bugs with attributes if I remember correctly - I would suggest proceed with your upgrade and see if that doesn't fix it. (not to mention 1.3.7 is no longer supported)
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Hi Kim and thank you for your reply,

I do have the upgrade planned but not until a few other things are cleared off my plate. That is customer's decision and so I'm stuck at this version for right now.

I've other items using attributes, so this one is baffling me a bit. Is there a place you can think of where I should start looking?

    Thanks,
    -Ray
