Customizing Abbington_Mega Template issue

ZC 1.5.0 recent full install, just for testing mods and overrides. No modules other than package includes, yet. Latest version MySQL and php, hosted on Godaddy dedicated, SSL not turned on yet.

Understand the basics of customizing the site...that being said...this particular template does not appear to be laid out quite the same as far as the way it is formatted when opened in notepad ++. Some of the Tags don't appear the same although I know they do the same function(s).

Issue is this. Fully customized site from ZC template (scratch) looks like I want for the most part

Want to use the listed template and change to the look of my other one.

The logo was just put in there to try and figure out what .css was controlling certain items. I changed the header nav section and it appears just as I would like it, but when trying to get the Main Page and full Page Body to accept a background image it all goes away, have tried to use <div> with z-index to set the overall background image to no avail...need some help with the css structure and file structure for the template I think.

The area of trouble is getting the background to look like the first site, using a header image like the first one and getting the search box in the abbington template to float over the top. The logo I have on the second site is there simply testing what did what...

Do you have the Firebug and/or Web Developer plugins for Firefox ? Those are the best way to figure out what CSS rules control which page elements.

Welllll...gave it a shot using MS web dev tools and understand where the customization needs to go...however, cant seem to get the syntax right I guess for adding what I want to have happen here. Maybe I need to pick your brain again. Just spent several hours on htmlgoodies and learned a great deal but to no avail...I am pasting the code from the template as it is right now, and what I want is to add another image behind the body (background img as a second background. I need the current body img to be on top and not sure how to code the z-index or adding <div> if needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just to clarify...what I am after is as follows
viewing the "2011_Store", I want the dark background to lay below the dark image behind the top nav like viewed "2013_EStore" I want both the bar image at the top over the overall body background of the other.

put your background image within the body tag

put the top bar background image in the navMainWrapper tag

for the search

find the #logo tag and add position:relative

find the #header-right tag and add position:absolute;bottom:10px;right:10px;
