Default Upgrade to mysql 5.1. and higher php - how to check site will still work ok?

    Hi,

I have been having issues on my main website and after checking with my web hosts they have said the following:

In order to fix the issue with the upcp, we will need to upgrade the version of mysql to 5.1 and also, the php version 5.2.17 is no longer supported with cpanel.
Please confirm, if your application have any compatibility issue with latest versions of php.
I am now worried sick as have no idea how to check everything will run the same on the newer version - is there a way I can check this before giving them the go ahead? It looks like I have to do this upgrade as my card payment set-up has stopped working and they say this is the only way to fix it.

Am having a mild panic attack here trying to work it out so any help would be appreciated.

My main site is beeunique dot co dot uk and I also have two others that are non zencart ones hairdyeforum dot com and hairdyegallery dot co dot uk (so if anyone has any idea on how I check those I would be grateful).

Sorry can't see the option to edit and add this to my original post - I have received confirmation that my forum site will work upto mySQL 5.5 and php upto 5.4, so if anyone can confirm that those are ok for zencart too that would be great :)

    Thanks again

I always have my development copy of my shop running locally on the latest version of xampp, (currently php5.5) to catch these things way in advance, to be fixed at leisure.

    Thanks :)
I know my forum can only run upto php 5.4 without an upgrade being required so as long as ZC is ok on that too I am happy. Also would the mySQL5.5 be ok for zencart?
