Evening fellow Zenners, a little help would be appreciated. Here's what I've done:
1. Cloned current 'live' site (v1.3.9).
2. Updated clone to 1.5.1.
3. Redesigned clone.
...what I would like to do (if possible) is update the cloned database (now v.1.5.1) with the recent sales/customer data from the live site (v1.3.9).
Would anyone mind suggesting the method to do this? I'm concerned about overwriting changes I've made that are stored in the database so guessing the best action would be to:
1. Create another clone of the live site, then put it down for maintenance.
2. Update the database to 1.5 using zc_install.
3. Export the relevant tables (customers, addresses, etc), then import into the new version of site.
4. Delete old site and move new site to live server.
Has anybody any experience in this? I'm not totally sure of which database tables are effected by day-to-day sales / customer data?
My other option is to just 'lose' this data....but a little worried about customers not being able to access order info or accounts.
Thanks all
