I just noticed that in my admin area, when you click on "locations/taxes", then on "countries", there is nothing showing and there is this error message: "WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again."

Would it work to just make all products virtual, then get the shipping addresss from the paypal transaction info?

Okay, so I just went ahead and ran the zc-install after backing up my edited files. I just hope the corruption is not within one of the ones I edited. We shall see!

From what I can see from the information you've posted, your issue's source is the database ... not the file-system.

Probably so. I did the clean install using the zc-install file. This fixed the issue. The countries are showing up now. All I have to do upload my css color changes and all is good! Hopefully this thread will help someone else. But next time, I'm installing from the zern cart download, not the hosting company's version.

I get the same thing.
The problem along with the htaccess file being empty is being cause by "INSTALLATRON"
