    Default db_prefix

I am getting ready to set up my new store with a new host but I do not remember the db_prefix I originally set up my Zen Cart with. Where can I find this information?

    Thanks,
    Marc

Thanks. It appears that I did not set a prefix. [define('DB_PREFIX', '');]. Will this be a problem in upgrading and moving to another hoting company? What is the reason behind a prefix?

    Thanks again,
    Marc

I, personally, have never needed a prefix on my table names ...

This is usually for when a person gets a domain and host some where that they are only given 1 or a limited number of database tables so the prefix helps to group the table names ...

So if the table names were normally:
    admin
    address_book
    products
    products_description
    etc.

You would have with the prefix of fred_:
    fred_admin
    fred_address_book
    fred_products
    fred_products_description
    etc.

    as your table names ...

At the rates of hosting these days, such as our Certified Hosting sites in the link at the top of your screen, it is rare to run into this circumstance any more ...

Should you ... perhaps it is time to find a Zen Cart Certified Hosting site for your domain ...

Its pretty easy to fix. I signed up with HostMonster and they add a zen_ prefix to the tables also. You just go into your config file and remove the prefix and it should work fine.

Thanks for the explanation guys. I plan on moving to Camelot here in the next few weeks. I just got my "BOOK" so I will be bugging you a little less often... hopefully.
