Ajeh,
Thank you for checking it out.
Will that "both/and" setup cause any problems that you can think of?

Other than only the URL link is actually working? I am not sure you will have to test for awhile ...
I know that earlier, several times, the link gave me a dead page ... an hour or two later I tried it and it was working ...

I am posting this just in case someone else out there is interested in using an HTML Banner but also having Banner Manager count the clicks. I have tested the setup (described in the discussion above) for a few days and it seems to be working fine.
Ajeh has pointed out that it is sort of a combination of BannerURL and HTML Banner. I have only tested it with simple text links.
To do this:
1) Set up a banner ad according to the normal process for BannerURL
2) Copy the the opening <a> tag from the HTML output for that banner ad (using firebug, etc.) and paste it into the HTML Text field for that banner (admin>tools>banner manger>"ad in question">edit).
3) Enter whatever text you want after the <a> tag and then add a closing tag (</a>)
This should give you your text as a link in the banner box, and it will also count the clicks on that link in banner manager. The link will click through to whatever url you have entered in the Banner URL field for that banner ad.
Again, I have only tried this with a simple link. I don't know (I even have doubts) if it will work with more complex HTML banners.
If anyone is aware of any problems with (or cautions for) this setup, please post them.
Hi!
I'm almost sure what will be the answer, but I have to ask anyway :-)
If I need to make an "HTML banner" to display Flash banners, does it means that I have no way (on side of ZenCart) to count clicks on such Flash banners?
Or there is a way to count them somehow?
Thanks
P.S. I've tried the way described in the previous message, but it doesn't cont clics in my case (SWF file with built-in link).
Thanks
HTML banners do not count clicks ...
You can count displays but not the clicks ...
