Yes, the problem was between the keyboard and the chair.

I just experienced a similar "between the keyboard and the chair problem" in v1.3.7.1:
Only one out of seven featured product was visible at the featured products.

It appeared that the other six were unpublished,
which was not visible in the featured products list...

Thanks for this thread! It helped me ruling out any other configuration faults...
