Default Changing 'Buy' button to a link

    Hi,

I want to use Zen Cart to be an online catalogue, but instead of using the Shopping Cart, I want a button on each product page where I can specify a certain link.

So, if someone is interested in the product, they can click a 'More Info' button that acts as a hyperlink and takes them to an off-site address.

Is it possible to change the way the 'Buy' button behaves? Where about is the code located in Zen?

    Thanks

So if you send them elsewhere and change your buy button how will they be able to buy?

I will be redirecting to an external booking site run by another company, with a code in the hyperlink which indicates the product being purchased.

This will require a lot of work - firstly, product info is displayed in many forms - each with its own template setup. For example, there's a template set that will return product info as a result of a search. There's a template set that displays featured products, and another that will display ALL products, and others that drill down into a product's full information. In each of these sets of templates, there are complicated calls to action off the database.

Next, there will be considerable work needed on the database itself - if it is to strip in dynamic data to build a url (or a query into a remote database).

I'm sure it's possible - but you'll probably have to hire someone here - it's a lot of work.

Ok thanks for the info. I think for ease I'll just put a big image button in the description using html code, and disable the shopping cart.

Not as slick as using the built in buttons in zen cart though
