Default domain problem - help needed please

    HI all,

I have got the following problem. For some unknown reason the renewal email for my domain name landed in my junk mail box and I never saw it.
There for after only a couple of hours of being expired, somebody bought (read stole) my domain name.

Now I have registered a new domain name and have to adjust my site and all the products to the new domain name, but I can not access the admin area for my site.
because that all still points to the old domain name.

Can anybody help me out, and tell me how I can do this? Hope this is not too unclear. I was thinking of doind a "search and replace" with dreamweaver?

Old domain was ***.com new domain is ***.biz the rest of the URL is the same

    Thanks in advance

You should only need to make the domain name changes in the following 2 files

    includes/configure.php
    admin/includes/configure.php

Can I ask with whom your Domain name was Registered?

You should have had 30 days to renew your Domain name before it ever became available again to the public so something sounds wrong with someone else being able to grab it so fast.

Got the PM, thanksk, and no problem naming Registrars in the Forum.

Your PM said the Registrar was NameCheap and it seems really odd that your Domain was scooped so fast. They, like us, are an eNom Reseller of Domain names and that has never happened with any of our Domain names. Mind you, always using the option for "Registrar-Lock" is strongly advised; it can help even when the Domain name expires.

Off topic question over, now back to your regular scheduled thread.
