Error: You must select a country from the Countries pull down menu.

Hello Everyone,

I get the error message " You must select a country from the countries pull down menu." when I go to create an account. I've already added the country to the pull down menu but it still doesn't work.

What have I done wrong?

Same problem here... When I try and edit a shipping address it will not let me select a country. Even though the country is selected I get the error.

Same thing here. Customers are unable to sign up because of this error. When you try to sign up as a new customer you select your country from the drop down. US only. And fill out the other info and click submit and you get an error.

You must select a country from the Countries pull down menu.

Yeah, this is weird, I suddenly started having this problem this week, too. I looked around, and found the solution in a thread of people having the same problem, but with the state drop-down list.

So, go into admin-customer details- select the Create Account Default Country ID item to edit it. Using the drop-down list, set that default to none. I made that change, tested it, and it worked just fine, where I had been getting the error message just before the change. I created a couple of test accounts in different countries, and it worked just fine.

Perhaps you three should compare to see if there is a recently added contribution or modification that is common to all your sites. I checked after seeing your posts and don't have this problem on my three websites all using ZC v1.3.8a.

Perhaps there is an incompatibility with a recently installed fix, or contribution. If so please notify the author.
