Attribute Images

Is there a way to have an image listed as standard for created attributes other than at the stage when you add the attribute to a product?

I have searched and cannot seem to find an answer to this.

Eg> We have a standard set of attributes - all priced the same and the attribute image will be the same for each

att> add a vase (img_vase.jpg)
att> add some chocolates (img_choc.jpg)

but then it appears i need to add the image, the price for each and every product, surely there must be a quicker way of achieving this?

any help would be greatly appreciated

The only fast way that I have been able to figure out is to use the copy to feature in Catalog-> Attributes Controller. You can copy to a single product or an entire category. Set up all the attributes you want on the one product first and then you can copy them all to another product or category, even the same category as the one in which your product is in.

Thanks for the response!! That will do it! :) I appreciate the input! Do you know if that would create a global change if pricing was amended or as with products would you need to go into each one individually?

Maybe a feature we will see in zen version....xxxxx :)

It will globally update attribute pricing, but not a products base price. You will have to do that individually. A faster way to update the prices of a product without changing anything else is to use the Catalog-> Products Price Manager. Its a little faster because it doesn't have to load the whole page full of descriptions, titles, inventory, etc, but you still have to do it one product at a time.
