    Default Re: Google SitemapAdmin

    Hi

I installed and ran the sitemap genrator and all works fine, I submitted the site map info to google via webmaster tools and it has returned an error missing file.

My website is www.bannermanmarketing.co.uk and my zen cart is in a sub directory called shop. When I look at what the sitemap generator says it has created the xml files in the root but in fact they are in the sub directory /shop.

How do I change the way Google looks for the map? do I need to add something in the root to point to the sub directory files?

    Any help appreciated.

Latest version of the zencart + sitemap (downloaded last week) well the sitemap was the cart has been running for a while now.

    regards Ken

I have worked round the problem by copying the three map files into the root, Google now sees them and reports all is well. I know this is not the correct way but for now it works, would still like to fix this properly if anyone has some input it is well recieved.

Hi, hope someone can help me...

I've searched and searched the forums and most of the 80-odd previous pages but can't seem to find an answer

My problem is that I want to add a sidebox and contents (links to custom define pages that I have created) to my sitemap index.

I sell products on my website but i also provide services (the name of my sidebox). Services are where I make the most profit thats why this is so important to me.

    Can anyone help? Please...?

    Mat

Hmm, you cannot add a sidebox to the sitemap itself.
However, you can add its contents, in the way of links to those pages.
By definition, a sidebox is something that will show on the site, but not on the sitemap.

Well I know that... that was what I meant... I just want the content from my 'Services' sidebox induded in the generated xml files.

    Eg.

    I only get sitemapproducts.xml, sitemapcategories.xml, sitemapezpages.xml.

However, I want it to generate sitemapservices.xml.

I think some of my sites define pages I have linked to in my sidebox have been indexed by google now so i imagine google found them by crawling as oppsed to my sitemap. But i still think it would be useful to be able to generate sitemapnameofsidebox.xml pages.

    Anyone else with me?

I really like this mod, but have an odd need. Some background....
We have resellers that sell our products, and they can't have the badges that they order, get indexed and then their customer order from us instead of them. We also sell direct to customers, so our shop right now has mostly just customers. We want to add the resellers on-line, and have been using the hideCategories mod. It works well, and with no links those pages should be pretty secret, since most of the resellers customers don't know that they could get their badges from us, and probably aren't looking super hard. I understand it isn't perfect, but it seems like a workable solution for everyone. Where it falls apart is that this mod shows all categories even those that are hidden. I would really like some direction on finding where the SQL is or some hints on where to look to accomplish getting these not put in our sitemaps, both the categories and products that are hidden.

    Thanks for your help, Matt

I am getting the following error when my sitemaps generate.

    XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
    Location: http://www.uniqueseason.com/sitemapezpages.xml
    Line Number 23, Column 100:

This is in my sitemapezpages.xml. The other three sitemaps work just fine.

Any ideas as to why this might happen?

E-mail me. SitemapXML v2 theoretically supported hideCategories, but we need to test.

Yes, this is a bug in the module.
