    Default Notify me of updates to...

    Hi all,

    I have recently launched a new website and all appears to be going smoothly (touch wood) apart from one strange quirk.

    If a customer looks at one of my products and it is out of stock, and then hits the 'more information, button, it shows on the right hand side of the page a big green tick with the words 'Notify me of updates to (whatever product it is). This is as it should be.

    However.... if the same customer logs into their account and looks at the same product, clicks 'more info' etc their is no green tick on the side. Hence they cannot hit the notify me button.

    It isn't a big issue but makes it hard to keep my customers happy.

    Any clues??

    I cannot reproduce this issue on your site ...

    I go to a product ...

    I click the Green Notify Me ...

    I have to login/create account ...

    I am then shown a screen to set the Product on Notification ...

    I Update that I want to be on the Notification ...

    If I go back to the Product, I now see the Notification box change to the Red Not Notify ...

    Hi Ajeh,

    I sort of follow where you were going with your reply.
    My issue was:
    Customers sees patch
    clicks 'green tick'
    If not logged in - does so. Item is now on the list.
    However....
    If same customer who is now logged in looks at another product that is out of stock - they don't get to see the notify me tick any longer.
    So they need to log out
    Find the item again
    Click the notify button
    Log back in....
    etc etc

    I cannot reproduce that on your shop ...

    If I go to a product that is sold out I can still click on the Notify and if not logged in I login ... and then I can click on it ... if I go to other sold out products I see the Notify ...

    Make sure in your testing you are not setting the Global Notify which is for ALL Products ...

    I have to admit I am now stumped.
    My live site is exaclty the same as the test site.
    You seem to be the only one that gets to see 'notify me' function when logged in.
    I cannot see it when I log in under my 'test' account.
    Even if I change the Global notify in the config page it makes no difference.

    (Hangs his head in shame....)

    I seems to work OK for me, too, if you're talking about the green tick in the right sidebox column. It appears when I go to the product info page of a sold out item, and if I'm not logged in, it sends me to the login page. If I am logged in, I see the notification options.

    Maybe if you clear your browser cache?

    Do this ...

    Click on the Notify on any product, what ever the color is ...

    Read the screen and make sure you do not have this checked:
    Global Product Notifications
    Receive notifications on all available products.

    Elves see what most people don't ... spookie eh?

    Thanks for the update that the Global Notification was enabled so your individual Products were not showing the Green Notifiy and only the Red Remove from Notify ...
