cURL/SSL problems on XAMPP

Hello,

I've read many threads about problems getting Zen Cart to run on XAMPP but I am unable to find a solution to my problem, I don't think my problem is too hard, I think I just need a little help to get it sorted out and hopefully someone can help.

I'm running XAMPP on Windows Server 2003 just so I can run up sites and make changes to templates etc. This is all at home.

I downloaded XAMPP today (30 Nov 2009). There is only 1 php.ini file located here - %systemdrive%\xampp\php\php.ini, I have uncommented the "extension=php_curl.dll" line in the ini file and rebooted.

I get the following errors when trying to install:

CURL requires SSL support. Please notify webmaster or hosting company. 28 => SSL connection timeout more info...
CURL problems detected: 7 => couldn't connect to host more info...
CURL requires SSL support. Please notify webmaster or hosting company. 7 => couldn't connect to host more info

The cURL section in phpinfo says:....
