    Something is preventing your site from properly starting a session.
    Proof of that is in not only the error message you initially reported, but also in the fact that if you change currencies via the pulldown menu in the sidebox, it doesn't remember the selection.

    Maybe you've fudged the session settings or the server's unable to store session details properly (is your cache folder writable?), or you've got .htaccess redirects set up which are causing confusion by translating something incorrectly, or it's trying to set session cookies using bad domain information ... it could be any number of things, sadly outside the control of Zen Cart itself.

    I have asked this question before so my apologies, but what do I need to do with these files to make them work. I was having no problem logging in until I put in place the site security steps and then I was unable to. What may I have done to upset this.
    With urgent thanks.

    I have changed my website from http://subjectmatters.ca to
    http://talkingwalls.ca.
    They assured me that all would work well...
    I actually thought that it was, but I keep getting that error login from my customers.
    I checked the sessions.php and get
    @copyright Copyright 2003-2007 Zen Cart Development Team
    * @copyright Portions Copyright 2003 osCommerce
    * @license http://www.zen-cart.com/license/2_0.txt GNU Public License V2.0
    * @version $Id: sessions.php 6662 2007-08-12 21:37:17Z wilt $

    I've not changed the - /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_login_default.php
    - /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_timeout_default.php
    and <?php echo zen_draw_hidden_field('securityToken', $_SESSION['securityToken']); ?>
    is in the right place.

    I've also the css to make sure that this is included.
    .hiddenField {
    display:none
    }
    .visibleField {
    display: inline;
    }
    Is there a place that I need to change the urls to make this work?

    I know this is an old thread but??Not one of my customers can log in including myself. If I knew how to delete them all I would...it seems like the only solution to me. People are emailing saying they can't get in...and I have no clue what to do...does anyone have any other suggestions? I can't find anything else written.

    What should I have I'm having somewhat of t the same issue since I upgraded and mine reads:

    /**
    * functions/sessions.php
    * Session functions
    *
    * @package functions
    * @copyright Copyright 2003-2007 Zen Cart Development Team

    * @version $Id: sessions.php 6662 2007-08-12 21:37:17Z wilt $

    I've followed the previous thread and still it's not working..UGH

    It seems that all my old customers who registered BEFORE I did the upgrade can no longer log in but any new customers who have registered after the upgrade have no problem logging back in

    Any help is appreciated

    OK, I'm also having this problem, I upgraded from 1.3.7 to the latest 1.3.9d and now my customers cannot log in.

    Tried following the FAQ but the following files do not exist:
    /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_login_default.php
    /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_timeout_default.php

    My /includes/functions/sessions.php is vanilla and up to date.

    Anyone have any suggestions or need any more information to help me with this issue?

    Thanks

    I did the upgrade (currently on b tho) and i'm having the same issue as one of our customers just brought to our attention. I tried to login with a personal account for testing and same issue.
