help question Shipping Module/Config Query

    Hi

I have a cart with shipping option minimised to the Per Unit (perweightunit) module.

This works well for the client who sells his products (bike frames, bicycle parts, saddles, etc) in the UK and Ireland and can choose to insert a single per-product shipping price, or insert none if he chooses the product to be free shipping.

International orders are very few and far between and if they do come in he asks the customer to contact him for a shipping price.

However, the client now has one product range (some particularly hot racing saddles) that is receiving many international order enquiries...

We would now like that product category
(and all sub-cats) to have free shipping for UK and Ireland orders, (i.e. insert no shipping weight) but for the rest of world / international orders to have a single shipping cost of £4.99.

Is there a way to apply a shipping charge, to international orders, for just one category of products? Or would an alternative shipping module be better used throughout?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Steve :)

You could use Zone Rate zones shipping module and put in the countries to skip as GB, IE and then put in the First Zone 00 for everyone else and set the charge to:
    10000:4.99

    Hi Linda.

To clarify, with 3 x confirmation queries:

    1. Skip Countries : GB, IE
    2. Zone 1 Countries : 00
    3. Zone 1 Shipping Table : 10000:4.99

    4. Alll other fields to be left blank ..?

    5. So, weight/price less than or equal to 10000 would cost 4.99 for all Zone 1 destinations, which is everywhere apart from GB and IE ..?

    6. Therefore, my client can continue to use the Per Unit (perweightunit) module. He can set a shipping price to 1.99 which would be added for orders in GB and IE. But any order outside GB and IE would be charged 4.99. Simply - ANY product with a per weight unit shipping price, this price will be added to all orders in GB and IE .. however, all other countries will have 4.99 added as a shipping cost for weight/price less than or equal to 10000. Is this correct?

    Many, many thanks.

    Steve :)

Be sure to test it ... but that is how this configuration should work ...

NOTE: make sure on the Per Unit perweightunit that you have a Zone definition for United Kingdom All Zones and for Ireland All Zones ...
