Unlimited product quantities for certain products

Hello all, I have been searching but I can't find an answer to this. I sell many products, namely beer and wine. Some of my items are sold as an unlimited quantity as I can get unlimited amounts of these items. These items I set at a default level of 100 + the number I actually have in stock. For other items (deposits for empty bottles) I set the stock level at 9999 and I just don't show the quantity box. This works but it would be much more useful to allow certain products to be unlimited. The main problem is that it would be nice to check the net worth of your stock for cash flow reasons. If items are set at 1000...and you have hundreds that are set like this, calculating your stock worth becomes very time consuming as you must subtract all of this page by page.

So, is their a way to set only certain items as unlimited so that I do not need to add a "quantity" in the quantity box? Or, is there a way to set up the invintory report so that it omits certain items? (I am guessing not).

I am using version 1.3.9f


I love Zencarts front end, however, trying to get ahold of your business from behind the scenes is still pretty tough!

Sounds like you need a seperate inventory management other than trying to use zencart for it

Hmmm...have you heard of any 3rd part sortware that can easily be integrated with zencart that can make this possible?

Correct inventory for some & incorrect inventory for others

Well, thanks for the reply, I am going to check out Quickbooks and see what I can do with that for stock management...was hoping I could just find a way to do everything with Zencart and avoid 3rd party software...some day!

If ZenCart had all these features the code would increase substantailly

And no matter what features were added it would not suit some
