Welcome to the trial wiki for Zen Cart™

Hi Ron,

Will try and do the upgrade tommorrow. I will post announcement in the forum if any downtime is required. I guess ther will be with such a version jump, but hopefully yhis can be kept to a minimum.

Any chance of the wiki being upgraded to the newest version (1.7.1)?

MediaWiki 1.5.3 is a security and bugfix maintenance release, and is a recommended upgrade for all installations. [[1]] 16:02, 17 December 2005 (MST)

Thanks Ron,

I have some programming work to do on the wiki tommorrow, will do the upgrade then, hopefully I won;t break anything :)

Here's a thought....

Do we want to have a separate page for each function used in Zen? If so I could do some of the grunt work and let those that know what they're talking about finish up by documenting whatever needs to be documented.

If so do we need to think about naming conventions now? Since functions come and go do we want a page named, for example, function zen_output_string, or do we want something more version specific? Hmmmm...maybe it would be best to archive later as each new version comes out as needed though (as functions change or are nuked). Thoughts? 21:58, 25 December 2005 (MST)

Not sure a separate page per function is needed for 2 reasons. First the new phpDoc & xref resources that will be available for 1.3+ will probably be better resources for this, although these are not open to the community to edit.

So maybe thats not a good argument against :)

2nd, which is a better argument, is that there will be a lot of changes to the functions in 1.3+, This will include moving fucnction locations, changing some function sets to classes, getting rid of some. etc.

However, what might be a good start is to have some pages, for each function set(e.g. functions_general, html_output, functions_lookups etc) with a list of all of the functions in each function set. This could them be used as a resource to map old 1.2.6 functions to new 1.3 stuff,

So the answer to your original question is, not sure :)

Alrighty then.....clear as mud it is! =) Maybe best to wait for 1.3 and then decide from there?!?! 17:36, 26 December 2005 (MST)

Entries for community contributions?

Is it a good idea to have a wiki section on community contributions (such as Super Orders, Easy Populate, etc etc etc)? One page per contrib, and we could insert the "readme" text for starters. --Grayson 08:39, 23 February 2006 (EST)

Excellent idea. :-) Some contributions have so long support threads that finding any real info can be hard, and this wiki could do something about that. I think I'll just go ahead and add a section in the navigation sidebox, so that people can find it easy. If it turns out nobody will use it to document any contributions, I'll just remove it again. What to call such a section? 'Contributions', 'Addons', 'Modules', 'Extensions', '3rd party <contributions/addons/modules/extensions>', or anything else? :-) Dwno 09:07, 23 February 2006 (EST)

Maybe someone needs to email 3rd Party Contributors asking them to write a short description of what the Contribution does and include a readme?
