What does this shipping module do?

This shipping module integrates with Freightquote.com to provide instant quotes on freight shipments at checkout. This will also modify the product editor in your store's administration so that you can specificy shipping details for each product in your store.

Upgrade Instructions

If you are upgrading an existing installation of the add-on, you can upgrade to 1.0.9 without reinstalling. To do this:

Step 1 - Back Up Your Store

1. Back up your database by going to Admin -> Tools -> Database Backup
2. Back up your store by using your web host's control panel or downloading all files using an FTP client. Contact your web host for more information.

Step 2 - Add Row to Configuration Table

Run this SQL against your database, replacing "TABLE_CONFIGURATION" with the name of your configuration table ("configuration" by default)

insert into " . TABLE_CONFIGURATION . " (configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, set_function, date_added) values ('Default delivery location', 'MODULE_SHIPPING_FREIGHTQUOTE_DELIVERY_LOCATION', 'Commercial (no loading dock)', 'Default delivery location type', '6', '0', 'zen_cfg_select_option(array(\'Residence\', \'Commercial (no loading dock)\', \'Commercial (with loading dock)\', \'Construction Site\'), ', now())

Step 3 - Upload freightquote.php

Upload includes/modules/shipping/freightquote.php to your server

New Installation Instructions

Step 1 - Back Up Your Store

Step 2 - Upload All Files

Upload all of the files in the "includes" directory to your includes folder.

Upload all of the files in the "admin" directory to your admin folder.

Step 3 - Update /admin/product.php

In /admin/product.php, find this line of code: require('includes/application_top.php');

Then add this block of code BELOW it: //---Freightquote Modification START ---// require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'freightquote/freightquote_admin.php'); $freightQuote = new freightQuote(); //---Freightquote Modification END ---//

Step 4 - Update /admin/includes/modules/update_product.php

In /admin/includes/modules/update_product.php, find this block of code: if ($_POST['image_delete'] == 1) { $sql_data_array['products_image'] = ''; $new_image= 'false'; }

Then add this block of code BELOW it: //---Freightquote Modification START ---// $sql_data_array = $freightQuote->mergeUpdateProductParameters($sql_data_array); //---Freightquote Modification END ---//

Step 5 - Update /admin/includes/modules/product/collect_info.php

In this file, find this line of code: $pInfo = new objectInfo($parameters);

Then add this block of code ABOVE it: //---Freightquote Modification START ---// $parameters = $freightQuote->mergePostParameters($parameters); //---Freightquote Modification END ---//

Step 6 - Update /admin/includes/modules/product/collect_info.php

In this, find this line of code: $pInfo->objectInfo($product->fields);

Step 7 - Update /admin/includes/modules/product/collect_info.php

How to Use

Step 1 - Enable the Freightquote.com Shipping Module

1. Log into your store's administration and go to Modules -> Shipping
2. Click on the "Freightquote.com" module and then "Install" to install the module.
3. Configure the module using your username and password and cutomize the other settings to best fit your shipping practices.

Step 2 - Configure Your Products

Edit each of your products and configure the options found in the box labeled, "Freightquote.com Shipping Information." Remember, only products with "Enable with Freightquote" checked will be included in shipping quotes.

Q: Do I need an account with Freightquote.com to use this service?

Yes, you can sign up for a free account by clicking here.

Q: Why does my shipping quote say that products were excluded?

Products that have not been enabled to use the Freightquote.com shipping method or are missing required information will be excluded from the quote. Check all of your products and ensure that all required fields have been completed.

Q: The module is enabled but does not appear as a shipping option. Why?

If no products in the customer's cart have their shipping options configured, the module will disable itself instead of displaying an error. The best practice is to enable free shipping under Modules -> Order Totals -> Shipping and then change the "Free Shipping" language to something that informs the customer that their shipping costs will be calculated afterwards.
