Scheduled Events

This Zen-Cart add-on is the product of several months of trial and error attempting to provide a way for customers to let the public know where their next event would be. It utilizes the override system to avoid affecting any core files. It DOES affect some files that you may have previously changed, so check all the files before upload. The add-on includes this read_me file, an installation_user_guide file, an events.sql patch file, and the two folders that will need to be ftp'd to your site. The database is changed with the events.sql patch that adds an event table to the database that allows the cart to display upcoming events. Events that are past are automatically dropped from the display. The database is set to accept information for: 1. The name of the Event - Event 2. The place at which the event is held - Place 3. The date the event starts - StartDate 4. The date the event ends - EndDate 5. Any comments about the event, such as where to park - Comments 6. Any specials that may be found at the event or a way the customer can get a special discount - Special 7. The shop's location at the event, i.e. Second Bldg in the Back - Location 8. A place to insert a link to the event's address from Google Maps or any other map program - Map_Txt A folder called "eventz" is included. It contains files that assist the shop admin(s) in entering/editing scheduled events. User already familiar with MySql inserts and updates may choose not to load this folder as the system will work just fine without it. It is only included to help those with little MySql knowledge. |

When testing Zen Cart 1.5.5 and this module, we found a couple of naming glitches in the files that caused the comments not to be listed. We also changed to information.php file to work with our new Retail Outlets mod. |

This is a rebuild of Scheduled Events 1.5.0. It is compatible with Zen Cart 1.5.0 and 1.3.9#. One step was missing from the installation guide and some files needed to be relocated so as not to touch any existing files or core files when doing a fresh install of this mod. This mod is supported in the forum at http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=116680. Backup and follow the instructions in events_installation_users_guide.txt for an easy load. |

An overdue update of this mod which is now compatible with 1.3.8, 1.3.9. Although named 1.3.9h, it is also compatible with 1..0 [BETA]. It is still built primarily for English but can be customized for other languages. It utilizes override files in a CUSTOM directory that will need to be compared with any like files already included in your custom folders. |
