Static Categories Menu

Zen Cart's categories box is database driven and nice. But for those who know they are not changing their categories much might benefit from a static menu. I am sure there are ways to do that but after 4 hours of searching Internet and couldn't find any, I decide to build my own. Static menu doesn't do any SQL query and it is much faster. Beside, you can do all the customization you want without knowing layers of functions and query. Of course, you will need to know simple html. To customize, edit the content variable at 'includes\templates\template_default\sideboxes\tpl_staticmenu.php'. Do all the customization(colors, font, spacing...) there. To install, move all the files into your zen cart directory, make sure you keep the directory structure. Logon to admin, go to Layout Box Controller and turn on staticmenu.php. That's all This is my first zen cart customization. Hopefully, someone might find it useful. Go to www.preciousgive.com to see the menu in action.
