help question HSBC as payment gateway and processor??

Now then, this came as surprise to me, but HSBC are insisting that they don't require Protx (or the like) coupled with their merchant account, so have advised that I scrap Protx.

I'm afraid that I don't have the faintest clue how to integrate them as a payment module instead of Protx.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

As I understand it, HSBC has a zencart module that they make available ONLY to their clients. It's not available elsewhere.

We had a meeting with HSBC today re card processing , they showed us a list of compatible shopping carts. ZenCart was not on there. OsCommerce was, but not Zen. We are expecting to have to use Protx, but if there is a way then I'd be interested to know your findings.

Did this go anywhere, I would like to use HSBC CPI option (credit card transaction on their servers), any thoughts if this is possible without a Protx account.

Yes, of course the British banks want you to use their own payment gateways, and pay the fees to them instead. But our advice to clients is always to use SagePay (formerly Protx).

They just handle these transactions so much better than any of the British banks, most of whom don't appear to have invested significantly in their payment gateways for a long time.
